There are very savvy people across the board. There are fixed rules that I see for digital world. One of the rule is to understand your audience. That is great. Here I hope all are actually understanding the audience. Here is where you consider the Usage Attitude Behavior. This is not only towards the Product its Category but also to the OnLine Space you are looking at.
Your audience has a two way reconciliation. One is what they find in the Category. One is dependent from which OnLine Platform you are conveying. I write for Parenting and Moms. It is amazing how simple things lead to a conversation. It is great that Moms have the time and energy to stop by and share their opinion. Makes one feel good when at the other end your right receptor is responding. This makes complete sense, have a small following; which is ok. Having a huge herd and having no replies is not working.
Some say the probability theory works here. If you have lots of people then higher is the probability of interaction. I would be happy ofcouse if that was the case. However with stereotype responses in single or double digit responding does not make too much sense.
It is better to have a few genuine in depth conversations rather than spreading thinly.
Well it also is an individual and business decision that matters. Sometimes the number only matters. Try looking for engagement. Try getting the right people talking. The spiral effect can be contagious.
